At 18-years-old, Korean-born Lydia Ko became the youngest golfer of either sex to ever be ranked #1 in the world. But outside of school, it was hard for her to find time to squander on being an ordinary teenager.
HOME IN ORLANDO
In 2016, VICE Sports went to Ko’s home base in Orlando, Florida, to show her some local sights she had missed out on. By the end of the day, Ko had posed with a pot-bellied pig, ridden in a swamp buggy and cradled a gator.
IF IT AIN’T GOT THAT SWING…
Ko started playing golf when she was five with a couple of clubs gifted from her Aunt. Ko’s other sporting interest — ballet — was ultimately set aside, because she didn’t consider herself flexible or strong enough to succeed.
In 2015, Ko’s picture perfect golf swing helped her earn Rolex Player of the Year honors and propelled her to a second consecutive “Race to the CME Globe” title.

In the midst of her heady achievements, Ko managed to slip in a sleepover with lots of selfies and mugged behind the drum kit for a promo.
