If you possess a Type A personality and have a gyroscopic sense of balance, then we’ve got just the ticket for your next summer vacation: skateboarding in the Alps.
HIGH-SPEED SKATING IN THE ALPS
Byron Essert and Alex Tongue did just that, and passed a number of flabbergasted (and slower) bicyclists on the way to their campsite. Incroyable!
Longboards — like their shorter skateboard siblings — lack brakes, so the only way to slow down on a decline is by dragging gloved hands and inducing some severe drifting action.
Watch carefully and you just might spot a pair of happily grazing cows that are wholly unimpressed with the speeding skaters.
FOR THE LOVE OF LONGBOARDING
For readers whose need for speed still isn’t satiated, here’s a video shot last year featuring some downhill bliss with Byron Essert in California…
… and, yet more, with Alex Tongue in the Czech Republic.
