While Marvel puts the weight of Thor’s hammer Mjolnir at a very liftable 42.3 pounds, the fearsome weapon is very picky about who it allows itself to be held aloft by. A number of enterprising mortals have attempted to simulate Mjolnir’s immobility by crafting real-life hammers that are even heavier than the mythical walloper. Case in point: Australian YouTubers How Ridiculous…

THOR’S HAMMER VS BULLETPROOF GLASS

How Ridiculous commissioned their own Thor’s hammer crafted from steel and lead, which weighed in at nearly 100 kg when finished. They then proceeded to test its destructive power by dropping it from on high.

The team repeatedly used a winch to bring the hammer to the top level of a 45-meter high tower, before releasing it upon unsuspecting objects below, including a pile of fruit, 2-liter Coca Cola bottles and finally bulletproof glass. Unsurprisingly, the weighty hammer indiscriminately smashed through all of its opponents with impunity.

THOR’S HAMMER VS ATLAS STONE

A later test, pitted Thor’s hammer against a giant-sized nail, a basketball hoop and lastly an Atlas stone — all of which were obliterated by the massive thumper.
