Although he never won a Cy Young award, pitcher Dave Stieb was a consistent ace for the Blue Jays over the course of 15 seasons in Toronto. In the 1980s, the mustachioed righty racked up 140 wins, second only to hall-of-famer Jack Morris’ 162. A seven-time All-Star, Stieb won The Sporting News Pitcher of the Year Award in 1982.
TORONTO BLUE JAYS ALL-TIME ROSTER
Stieb leads the Toronto Blue Jays all-time roster by wins above replacement with 56.7 to his credit. The next highest WAR totals belong to fellow pitcher Roy Halladay (48.0) and shortstop Tony Fernandez (37.5).
Of the Jays active players, first baseman Vladimir Guerrero Jr. certainly has the pedigree to one day make the all-time roster, but he still has a ways to go to catch Carlos Delgado’s 36.8 WAR accrued at that position.
Without further ado, let’s have a look at the biggest contributors by position…
