Skip Bayless and Shannon Sharpe go three rounds debating the latest sports headlines with our in-house judges scoring them blow-by-blow.

RND 1: LEBRON’S LAKERS CONTRACT

Rich Paul told Woj that LeBron James has agreed to a two-year, 97 million dollar contract extension with the Los Angeles Lakers. Woj also reported the Lakers are willing to offer two first round picks for Kyrie Irving, but the Brooklyn Nets aren’t interested in making the deal. Skip and Shannon react to LeBron and Lakers agreeing on a contract extension.

Skip can’t overcome his Lebron-derangement syndrome in trying to make the case that The King lost his leverage over the franchise by signing a contract extension.

RND 2: BAKER MAYFIELD PANTHERS QB

Baker Mayfield and Sam Darnold have been in an open competition for the starting job with the Carolina Panthers. However, according to The Athletic, the former Heisman Trophy winner is expected to be named the starter. Baker’s old team, the Cleveland Browns, head to Carolina in Week 1 to play the Panthers. Skip and Shannon debate on whether the Panthers made the right move or not.

Skip’s passionate buy-in on Mayfield is enough to have him winning the round on two of the three judge’s cards.

RND 3: CELTICS HALT TRADE TALKS FOR KD

According to the Boston Globe, the Boston Celtics have halted trade talks for Kevin Durant as both they and the Brooklyn Nets are QUOTE “not close to a deal.” Meanwhile, Woj revealed the Los Angeles Lakers offered two first-rounders for Kyrie Irving, but the Nets aren’t interested. Skip and Shannon determine the odds Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving remain with the Brooklyn Nets.
