The heat inside your vehicle can escalate quickly when it’s parked in the sun. Even running a quick errand can be too long to leave a dog, child, honey badger or NFL player locked inside the car on a warm day.
To vividly illustrate the point, People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (better known as PETA) had Arizona Cardinals star Tyrann Mathieu tough it out as long as he could in an exposed car.
Mathieu — who was so tenacious he earned the nickname “Honey Badger” while playing for the LSU Tigers — could only last for a few minutes in the intense heat which climbed to 120 degrees.
HONEY BADGER
If Mathieu succumbed so quickly, just imagine what it would be like for an animal with fur to be trapped inside a baking car. Even an actual honey badger, despite its fierce rep, would be unlikely to last long.
