A couple years ago, Pablo Picasso’s Les Femmes d’Alger sold for a record $179.4 million and none of the women pictured in the famous asbstract painting could come close to dunking a basketball. So one can only imagine what Ryan Simpson’s portraits of high-flying NBA stars might fetch at a Christie’s auction.

RYAN SIMPSON: PRINT MASTER

Fortunately, for those of us less well-heeled than Hamad bin Jassim bin Jaber Al Thani (aka “the man who bought London”), prints of Simpson’s striking illustrations start at just $20.

The samples of his work shown below represent a who’s who of pro basketball including past MVP winners LeBron James, Stephen Curry, Russell Westbrook and Kevin Durant. Will a Joel Embiid print be forthcoming?

OLD-TIMERS TOO

Simpson’s work isn’t limited to the current crop of NBA greats. He’s also made prints of the stars of yesteryear — including one legend by the name of Larry…
