To the chagrin of fantasy fans, Game of Thrones concluded its final season on HBO some time ago. For those who have never indulged in the medieval fantasy epic, suffice it to say, the story is based upon George RR Martin’s best-selling book series “A Song of Ice and Fire,” and Martin is a huge New York Jets fan. Wait, what?

JETS NATION

Tis true. The writer who breathed life into characters like Grey Worm, Khal Drogo and Tyrion Lannister, also happens to proudly count himself among the green-and-white horde of the Jets Nation.

In 2016, Martin recorded a video paying tribute to Jets lineman D’Brickashaw Ferguson, who was hanging up his cleats after plying his trade at left tackle for ten years.

If Jets fans are lucky, Martin might be able to sweet talk Game of Thrones character Gregor Clegane into playing offensive tackle to help protect their quarterback next season.
