It could be argued that skateboarding has never seen such a concentration of young talent as exists today. The Austin edition of the X Games showedcased a sport on the cusp of a Golden Age headed by teenaged maestros.

On Sunday, Nyjah Huston continued his dominance in the Skateboard Street competition with a 89.33 first run score, supplanted by a sublime 95.00 second run score which garnered the 19-year-old his fifth gold in the event since 2011.

A day earlier, fellow 19-year-old Pedro Barros skated his way to victory in the Skateboard Park finals with a score of 90.66. The gold represented his seventh straight in the same discipline — a skateboarding first.

Then there was Tom Schaar, who at the ripe old age of fourteen became the second youngest gold medalist in X Games history when he edged out the legendary Bob Burnquist in Big Air on Friday night.
