Three storylines dominated the news leading into Super Bowl XLIX: 1) Marshawn Lynch’s reticence with the media, 2) Richard Sherman’s loquaciousness with the media, and, of course, 3) deflategate. The first two subjects were the targets of competing parody sketches this past week.

First up, it was ComedyCentral’s duo of Keegan-Michael Key (as Richard Sherman) and Jordan Peele (as Marshawn Lynch) staging a joint press conference concerning Academy Award snubs and biscuits and gravy.

Next, it was Saturday Night Live stars Jay Pharoah (as Richard Sherman) and Kenan Thompson (as Marshawn Lynch) with a talk show segment focusing on, what else, New York City mayor Bill De Blasio and Skittles.
