Skip Bayless and Shannon Sharpe go three rounds debating the latest sports headlines with our in-house judges scoring them blow-by-blow.

RND 1: KEVIN DURANT RETIREMENT

According to Marc Stein, an NBA executive was hearing that Kevin Durant was more apt to retire than play for the Brooklyn Nets again. However, Durant went to Twitter to shoot down that notion, tweeting quote: ‘I know most people will believe unnamed sources over me but if it’s anyone out there that’ll listen, I don’t plan on retiring anytime soon.’ Durant would go on to say the situation as a whole is quote: ‘comical.’ Skip and Shannon weigh in on the soap opera-like reports.

Shannon comes out swinging in the first round and Skip basically co-signs on every punch thrown in the debate over KD’s tenuous position with the Nets.

RND 2: BRONNY JAMES’ MONSTER DUNK

In a matchup between under-18 California and French select squads, Bronny James’ right-handed poster slam was the highlight of the game. Bronny’s dad LeBron James of course tweeted in excitement along with other notable stars including Utah Jazz guard Donovan Mitchell. Skip tweeted about the play as well and became a national trend. Skip and Shannon react to the viral dunk.

Skip’s tweet taking issue with Bronny not using his left hand to dunk disqualifies him from any rational argumentation, so Shannon takes the second round without breaking a sweat.

RND 3: TREY LANCE HYPE

Heading into Year 2, San Francisco 49ers QB Trey Lance was listed as the top 2022 breakout candidate. The former 3rd overall pick was compared to Kanas City Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes who became a star in his second season and won the MVP. Skip and Shannon react to Lance being predicted to be the NFL’s top breakout star.

Skip saves face by eking out the third round on two of the three judges’ cards by going all in on Trey Lance, but Shannon rules the unanimous decision on virtue of his dominant early rounds.
