More so than the balance beam, uneven bars or vault, the floor exercise in women’s gymnastics gives the performer ample opportunity to express their personal style — especially in the dance sequences between tumbling runs. UCLA Bruins gymnast Sophina DeJesus took full advantage of the format to slip in a whip nae nae move which delighted the home crowd, her teammates, and the judges as well.


While she didn’t score a ten, DeJesus’ joyous floor exercise brings to mind another viral gymnastics video from two years back: Lloimincia Hall’s hip hop performance for LSU versus Alabama. The routine earned Hall her third perfect 10 of her career on the floor exercise.
