After a loss to the crosstown rival Nets, Knicks forward Carmelo Anthony showed up to the postgame press conference in a glitzy top hat that looked like it had been poorly photoshopped on his head.

Was Melo’s odd fashion accessory inspired by a Broadway show? Taco’s 80s classic “Putting on the Ritz”? Or perhaps Fred Astaire’s suave “Top Hat, White Tie and Tails”?

Whatever the motivation for wearing a top hat, Anthony had to know the Twittersphere would respond in kind.
