As a midfielder, John Obi Mikel doesn’t score a lot of goals — in fifteen Premiere League appearances for Chelsea this season he has taken only two shots and missed both. But that’s on the pitch and being at the dinner table is an entirely different matter.

As evidenced by a video clip posted to Instagram by teammate Didier Drogba, Mikel contributed the sixth and scoring header in a pre-meal challenge. The waste-bin goal set off a raucous celebration amongst The Blues which are a victory away from claiming the Premiere League title.

BLUE IS THE COLOUR

Chelsea last won the Premiere League in the 2009/10 season. If they can pull it off again this year, be prepared sing along on “Blue is the Colour.”

The club’s anthem which was originally recorded by players on the first team squad in the build-up to the 1972 League Cup Final. Then and now, the song sounds like it could be the soundtrack to a sketch on Monty Python’s Flying Circus.
