With smash hits like The Scorpion King (2002), The Game Plan (2007), Fast Five (2011), San Andreas (2015) and Hobbs & Shaw (2019), Dwayne Johnson’s films have grossed more than $10 billion worldwide. But before he could conquer Hollywood, Johnson had to walk away from pro wrestling, while he was still the top draw in WWE…

WHY THE ROCK LEFT WWE

A third generation wrestler, Johnson signed a seven-year deal with WWE in 1996 and quickly rose to the top of the profession as The Rock, with his signature tagline, “Can you smell what the Rock is cooking?” In the above video, Johnson explains why he left the promotion to pursue acting, and eventually returned to set an all-time ratings record.

With The Rock keeping his body in tip-top shape, don’t rule out yet another return to the squared circle in the future.

THE ROCK FOR PRESIDENT

With Johnson’s speaking skills, work ethic, and speaking skills, it wouldn’t be surprising to see him mount a campaign for President someday. In the meantime he’s got movies Tom and Jerry, Jungle Cruise and Black Adam in the pipeline for 2021.
