Actually, the only quarterback controversy caused by Cristiano Ronaldo’s visit to the Jets’ practice facility, was whether or not he could learn how to throw an American football. Jets wide receiver David Nelson was tasked with teaching the Ballon d’Or winner the art of lining one’s fingers up with the laces.

What resulted was a fairly convincing ready-to-throw pose reminiscent of a nickel-plated trophy you might find in a high school award case.

The real controversy remains, as always, what sport is the real football — the game plied on the gridiron almost entirely with the hands, or the kind practiced in the World Cup almost entirely with the feet.
