Forbes‘ ranking of the world’s highest-paid athletes in 2021 had three soccer players sitting atop the top ten, along with two football players, two basketball players and a player each from MMA, tennis and race car driving.
Mixed martial artist Conor McGregor topped the rankings with an estimated haul of $180 million, most of which came from his Proper No. Twelve whiskey brand and various endorsements including DraftKings and the video game Dystopia: Contest of Heroes.
