New York Knicks forward Carmelo Anthony became the first USA basketball men’s national team player to collect three Olympic gold medals, after the United States cruised by Serbia 96-66 in Brazil on Sunday.
Off the court, Anthony played the role of first-class United States ambassador (in sharp contrast to one notable member of Team USA swimming) by shooting hoops in one of Rio’s impoverished favelas.
SHOUTS OUT TO USABMNT
Melo’s buddy Dwyane Wade, and a host of other NBA stars — including a slew of former gold medalists — took to Twitter to congratulate the team on their championship run.
