Parkour gets animated every which way, from Minecraft to stop motion to flipbook

Buoyed by the popularity of American Ninja Warrior and various other stunting and obstacle racing shows (e.g. Wipeout, Bullseye, Spartan), parkour continues to grow in popularity. But for wannabes with bum knees or tennis elbows, the next best exploration of freerunning comes via animation.

Fredi Saal combined his love for freerunning and Minecraft to animate an epic parkour romp through a realm chock full of chunky pixels.

Corridor Digital recently made a viral stop motion karate video, but before that they had fun with parkour using the same VFX techniques.

Parkour doesn’t get anymore hardcore than when it’s performed under the influence in a Vegas hotel room.

If you can’t do parkour in real life, the next best thing is to emulate Ryan Higa and assemble 6,000 frames of an animation using 2,300 paper cutouts. Voila! Now you can do parkour!
