This #WorkoutWednesday we head to the gym for a boxing tutorial for beginners designed by bodybuilder Mike Rashid. The two-time Golden Gloves winner presents four episodes covering the basics of the sweet science which can be used to supplement any workout.

BOXING TRAINING TECHNIQUES

Rashid’s lessons start with a demonstration of the three most basic punches in boxing: 1) the jab, 2) the right cross, and 3) the left hook.

LEFT HOOK OFF THE JAB

Earlier, Rashid introduced the 1-2-3 combo (jab-right cross-left hook), in this episode he dives deep on throwing the left hook off of the jab to set up a finishing blow.

IMPORTANCE OF THE JAB

In the final episode of Rashid’s boxing for beginners series, he stresses the importance of the jab which is used to gauge distance and to set up the other punches.
