Climbing community reacts to loss of three elite alpinists on Canada’s Howse Peak

Last week, three North Face-sponsored alpinists perished in an avalanche while attempting to ascend Howse Peak in Canada’s Banff National Park. The tight-knit climbing community lost David Lama, 28, and Hansjörg Auer, 35, both of Austria, and 36-year-old Jess Roskelley, from Spokane, Washington.

REACTIONS TO LOSS OF CLIMBING TRIO

Fellow climbers from Alex Honnold to Sasha DiGiulian took to Twitter to mourn the untimely passing of their friends whose bodies were recovered yesterday from the mountain’s east face.
